Robots Come to Drake Circus

Students and science engineers from Plymouth University will be bringing science to life as part of National Science and Engineering Week, when they visit Waterstones in Drake Circus with robots and other scientific wonders.

The event will take place between 11.00am and 4.00pm on Sunday 18th March.

The University is bringing a collection of its humanoid robots. Some play football, while others entertain with tricks and stunts such as head stands.

Two of the robots will be available for the public to operate for themselves: another will be there to perform for the crowd.

Rachel Stephens, marketing manager at Drake Circus, said: “This is a great event for all the family. Programmes like “The Big Bang Theory”, and TV scientists such as Professor Brian Cox, have all made science cool and we hope that this new popularity of science will attract plenty of people to see the robots this Sunday.”
